Dear Colleagues:

The Association for Federal Information Resources Management (AFFIRM) is uniquely positioned to continue to grow in impact and deliver even greater value to our government members and industry partners. This year, to help us accomplish our mission, we will focus on four key initiatives:

1. At the heart of AFFIRM’s mission is providing educational forums for the government information technology community. This year we will focus our attention to growing our government membership by working closely with CIO’s and other government leaders to support their organizations.
2. Critical to the success of every government technology initiative is the role our partners from industry play, and this year we have pledged to increase our sustaining partner companies by 20%. This will enable us to better serve our core audience—government technology professionals—and encourage collaboration across the community.
3. Cross-agency initiatives have become increasingly important, and this year, we will focus on many of these programs. We will encourage participation by our important Capitol Hill constituency by inviting legislators, their staffs, and committees to join us at our monthly luncheons and special events.
4. Lastly, we are committed to elevating our scholarship contributions to a new record high. AFFIRM’s educational mission and partnership with local universities is the most enduring aspect of the organization’s work.
   

These key initiatives combined with our ongoing close attention to emerging technologies and their impact on the way we work and live will again keep AFFIRM in the forefront of informing and educating our members.
