On behalf of The Association for Federal Information Resources Management (AFFIRM) I am pleased to invite you to the AFFIRM Federal CFO Summit, January 30, 2008 at the Ronald Reagan International Trade Building in Washington, DC.  The first of its kind, this event will provide a forum for Government Financial Professionals to discuss financial management trends and deepen their understanding of how technology is being used to optimize financial business processes. 

Today’s Government Financial Community is faced with increased pressure to improve the quality of financial data while continuing to maintain compliance with Federal mandates and regulations.   Advances in technology are now providing agencies with the ability to streamline their processes for day-to-day financial operations as well as increasing capabilities to meet these important federal compliance standards and mandates such as FISMA and Sarbanes-Oxley.

The AFFIRM Federal CFO Summit will focus on key challenges the Government Financial Community is facing today, and provide attendees with the opportunity to engage and network with colleagues from other federal agencies.  We are honored to have the Acting Controller from the Office of Management and Budget, Danny Werfel as well as the CFO and CIO from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Mr. Chuck Christopherson, as keynote government speakers.  We will also be hosting the technology contractor community, who will be showcasing best practices and realistic examples of how technological solutions are being leveraged today to solve the Government Financial Community’s real-world problems.
