May Monthly Luncheon on "The New IT Economics"
May 21, 2009 (Thu)
CIO/CFO Panel: The New IT Economics
Innovative new approaches to IT – Cloud, Virtualization, and Open Source – are enabling new efficiencies across government. This expert panel of Federal CIOs and CFOs will discuss the promise of tomorrow’s IT models and how they are transforming today’s status quo. More than a theoretical discussion, the session will reference the hard dollar savings projections identified in the MeriTalk DIY Federal IT Bailout Report. The panelists will talk about the mission for the CIO Council Cloud Working Group, existing Federal IT transformation initiatives, lessons learned, and the promise for the future. And importantly, our Federal experts will debate the New IT Economics real cost savings opportunity and the potential to reinvest these dollars to deliver on the promise of the new administration’s Government 2.0 vision.
