Patricia Prosperi Biography
Associate Administrator, Associate Administrator For Administration
Patricia Prosperi became the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA) Associate Administrator for Administration on January 14, 2007. She leads a staff which provides a wide variety of administrative management support, including human resource management, information technology, and acquisition management for FHWA Headquarters and field offices.
Prior to joining FHWA, Pat served as the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Deputy Chief Human Capital Officer and Director of Human Resource Management. She has held other key departmental leadership positions, including Director of: Personnel Policy, Workforce Diversity and Special Programs, Policy and Program Development, Information Services and Transportation and Facilities. She has also managed DOT nationwide policy programs in the areas of environmental and energy management, safety and occupational health, and real and personal property, provided transit benefits services to over 100 Federal organizations; and led DOT's transition to an internet-based regulatory and adjudicatory docket system.
Pat began her career in 1978 as a Personnel Management Intern with the Department of Navy, working in and providing leadership to all aspects of human resource management. While at Navy, she served as the Director of Labor and Employee Relations for the Navy's largest research and development laboratory. Pat joined DOT in 1987 and the ranks of the Senior Executive Service cadre in 1995. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History Education from the State University of New York and a Master of Business Administration from George Washington University.
