Perspectives from the C-Suite: New executive branch actions and orders are putting pressures on government agencies to rethink how they organize to accomplish their missions and supporting back-office functions such as finance, HR, IT, and procurement. Confronted with both a hiring freeze and requirements to drive cost efficiencies, agencies must consider how to reorganize for success today and into the future. The session will include discussion of what federal agencies are doing to truly operate efficiently and create more with less, providing the opportunity to redesign ineffective processes, implement new enabling technologies, and streamline reporting structures. It will also touch on the effects of the hiring freeze and activities taken to be able to meet mission objectives.

Session highlights include senior-level perspectives on the preparation for and compliance with the first quarterly DATA Act reporting process that officially ends May 9. The discussion will include major accomplishments under the Act such as the establishment of data standards, the potential for use of the data in improved decision making, and the section 5 grant reporting pilot.
