About UMUC

Founded in 1947, UMUC is one of 11 accredited, degree-granting institutions in the University System of Maryland (USM). The university offers a wide array of IT-related degree and certificate programs, including a BS in Information Systems Management and MS in Information Technology, that respond to current trends in today's demanding job market.
Headquartered in Adelphi, Maryland, UMUC has classroom locations in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, Europe and Asia, and provides award-winning online classes to students worldwide.
In July of 2007, AFFIRM established the “AFFIRM Endowed Scholarship Fund” to provide financial support to full time students who are enrolled at UMUC. Awards shall be given to students majoring in the Information technology or related area; who have completed 60 credits or more and who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and demonstrates financial need. In the fall of 2010 the endowment awarded its first scholarship.
