Meet the President

Brian Bordelon
Senior Director of Strategic Capture Management, Nutanix
Brian J. Bordelon serves as the President of the Association for Federal Information Resources Management (AFFIRM), where he leads the board in fostering collaboration between government and industry IT leaders. Professionally, Brian is the Senior Director of Strategic Capture Management for the Federal Civilian sector at Nutanix. In this capacity, he leads strategy and growth initiatives aimed at helping federal agencies modernize their platforms through hybrid multi-cloud, AI, data and hyperconverged solutions.
Prior to this Brian worked as the Deputy Chief Information Officer (DCIO) for the Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO) at the Department of Commerce (DOC) and was responsible for assessing current and emerging technologies, IT service delivery models and IT management best practices, and develop strategies, implementation, and migration plans for Commerce IT portfolios. Before that Brian served as Principal Deputy CIO at the Department of Education supporting the Department’s key initiatives for OCIO and leading strategic planning efforts to enhance mission-focused capabilities. During his time at Education, Brian served as the Department Acting CIO as Executive Director, Enterprise Technology Services, where he led teams to drive the IT capability and service delivery functions for the enterprise.
Brian holds Master of Science in Administration and IT Resource Management from Central Michigan University. He has also completed the Chief Information Officer (CIO) graduate program at National Defense University, Ft. McNair; the Federal Executive Institute program in Charlottesville, VA, and the Harvard Executive Education programs. Brian is a federally certified FAC-PPM as well as holds several industry certifications in technology and leadership practices.
